*Figures for self reported rough sleeping using the Breakfast Service are not included in these counts. Since 2009, figures provided have included self-reported rough sleepers using a voluntary breakfast service on the morning following the rough sleeper count. This is done so that persons presenting to this early morning service who may not have been counted on the night of the street count can be identified. A process of reconciliation is then undertaken to confirm and remove duplication for persons included in the street count. Upon agreement, the balance is then added to the overall rough sleeper count figure. On the morning of the November 2012 count, the breakfast service was unable to provide this report and no reconciliation was possible. For the previous 6 counts over the last four years, an average of 14 persons were added to the final overall figure.

Review of Service Provision for Women in Dublin
Trinity College Dublin

The review of service provision to women has commenced with Dr Paul Mayock, School of Social Work and Social Policy & Children’s Research Centre, Trinity College Dublin.

Approximately 50 services in Dublin have been identified as providing services to homeless women and as part of the mapping a survey questionnaire has been issued to these services. The research paper will document women’s interaction with services in addition to the pathways, exits, returns and trends of use of services by this cohort of women.

The review will also encompass consultation with the Women’s Homelessness in Europe Network who will consider the research paper and provide international comparative perspectives on homelessness and housing policy particularly in relation to women.
